About Us
PROVIDENCE is the champion football club of Gujarat and intends to develop into a mass promoter of football by coaching children from village schools. We conduct regular coaching programs through our trained coaches in the different schools of Baroda and have youth teams to provide opportunities for talented children to develop into star footballers.
To sustain and develop its sporting passion, PROVIDENCE is trying to generate its own continuous and progressive sources of income through its business arm PROVIDENCE INC.
The organization has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 1999. Today PROVIDENCE INC. is into retailing through a low margin Super Store, distributorship of sports goods and manufacturing a premium quality detergent powder.
Why Providence?
PROVIDENCE exists for promoting the cause of sportsmen. Our aim is to become the best in all our activities and become a model organization for others.
Conventional thinking in India presumes that sports are a diversion from productive activities. Employing sportsmen is considered to be a social service and nothing much is expected from them outside the sporting arena.
PROVIDENCE is an attempt to break away from this mould. We are out to show that sports is a way of life - a very essential one at that; and that sportsmen are the biggest assets to society (if given the right opportunities is a moot point - we are creating our opportunities).
